JOB DESCRIPTION

Matrix is seeking a highly experienced Senior Proposal’s Design Engineer to work closely with our General Manager of Technology on compilation and submission of technical drawings for proposals created from leads generated by Sales and Product Line Managers.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer with deep experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a solutions-focus and a drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible for our customers. Some of the duties you will be responsible for include:

• Review client RFQ’s and provide expert analysis and interpretation client requirements.
• Determine client’s documentation, quality, safety, environmental, and engineering deliverables pre and post award and provide insights additional insights where applicable.
• Collate and respond to RFQ Technical Clarifications with assistance from relevant parties within Matix including the CEO and GM Technology.
• Identify technical proposal risks and develop solutions to control or mitigate risks.
• Review scope of supply and liaise with Engineering and Product Line Managers to compile suitable cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare technical proposal drawings for to be included in bid submissions.
• Assist with detailed cost estimates in a timely and cost-effective manner in line with company Profit Margin and Costing Policy.
• Support the General Manager of Technology and CEO with various project and client requirements for the full lifecycle of our projects.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role you will be a commercially focused team player with extensive experience working on complex projects. TO be considered for this position you require:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated extensive and current experience in Solidworks.
• Proven experience working with and interpreting working engineering drawings and data to extract information for complex projects.
• Internal and external stakeholder engagement skills in fast paced and agile environments.
• Proven experience in managing projects within demanding timeframes.
